ABSTRACT
Os paragangliomas do corpo carotídeo são lesões raras originadas em estruturas microscópicas associadas ao sistema nervoso autônomo, nas regiões para-axiais do tronco, vizinhança dos arcos branquioméricos e periferia do SNA, os paragânglios. A presença de lesão bilateral é rara. Os autores relatam dois casos de paraganglioma bilateral, onde se avaliam suas características clínico-epidemiológicas e o tratamento cirúrgico.
The carotid paragangliomas body injuries are rare and originated from microscopic structures associated with the autonomic nervous system in the torso paraaxial regions, neighbourhood of the branchiomeric arches and the periphery of the ANS, the paraganglia. The presence of bilateral injury is rare. The authors report two cases of bilateral paraganglioma, evaluating the clinical and epidemiological characteristics and surgical treatment.

Aneurisma extracraniano de artéria carótida interna é um evento incomum, podendo produzir complicações neurológicas graves. Relata-se um caso de um paciente do gênero feminino com 51 anos de idade que apresentou massa pulsátil e semifixa em região cervical esquerda nível II, que revelou ser um aneurisma extracraniano de carótida interna, sendo submetida ao tratamento cirúrgico.
Extracranial aneurysm of the internal carotid artery is an unusual event that can produce neurological complications. We report a case of a 51-year-old female patient who presented a pulsate and partially fixed mass in left cervical region level II, that unveil to be an aneurysm extracranial of internal carotid artery; undergoing the surgery treatment.
